My first professional job as a web developer was in 2006 for Bay Plastics Ltd. Whilst Bay Plastics already had a website, they felt it was outdated and in general disrepair. They hired me to work for them as a lead developer for their new site. I worked on-site, encountering lots of new responsibilities and challenges. This was a very large project, which provided me with a great opportunity to apply my education and technical skills to a real-life company.
The website has since gone through a few changes to keep it up-to-date, but is still going strong 4 years after development. In the last 4 years I have learned a great deal about web development, but it’s always good to look back on my first real web development job, even if it isn’t perfect!
